Denmark’s DEA gets no appeals, lets N Stream-2 construction restart

MOSCOW, Aug 4 (PRIME) -- The council for appeals of Denmark has not received appeals against a decision of the Danish Energy Agency (DEA) to allow Nord Stream 2 AG to use pipeline laying vessels with position mooring equipment in the building of Russia’s Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline, and the company can resume works, the authority said in a report on Tuesday.

"The appeal council for energy of Denmark has not received appeals against the decision of the DEA of July 6, 2020," the authority said.

The Nord Stream-2 project envisages construction of two lines of a natural gas pipeline with an annual capacity of up to 55 billion cubic meters, running from the Russian shore to Germany under the Baltic Sea. Russian gas giant Gazprom is implementing the project together with Germany’s E.ON and BASF, Royal Dutch Shell, OMV, and France’s Engie. The length of the pipeline’s route exceeds 1,200 kilometers.
